Salda Lake is often called the “Turkish Maldives.” This is because the landscapes of this place are very similar. The shores are covered in pristine white sand, and the water is crystal clear, ranging in color from gentle blue to vibrant blue. The extraordinary picturesque scene is complemented by pine-covered mountain ranges that surround the lake.
In reality, Salda is a crater lake formed in an extinct volcano. It is the largest freshwater lake in Turkey, with a depth of up to 200 meters. The white sand is actually sedimentary rocks enriched with magnesium and hydro-magnesite. Even on the hottest days, it remains cool. The water in the lake and the mud at its bottom are used for the treatment and prevention of skin diseases and musculoskeletal disorders. The uniqueness of this lake, its captivating landscapes, and the crystal-clear mountain air with pine aromas make it increasingly attractive to tourists with each passing year.
Another celebrity you will visit during our fascinating tour is the extraordinary Pamukkale. Its truly magical landscape with white travertines on the slopes, heavenly colored thermal water, harmoniously blends with the ruins of ancient Hierapolis, an amphitheater, and the delightful Cleopatra’s Pool.
